Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!

I could be a ballerina one day
I could really put on a play
I could run and jump and prance
I could really start to dance
I could be a ballerina one day!

I could be the president one day
For all my meals I wouldn't have to pay
I would march and salute
I would wear a nice silk suit
I could be the president one day!

I could be a gardener one day
I could have lots of fresh flowers in May
I could water, I could plant
Even though I'd start to pant
I could be a gardener one day!

I could be an astronaut one day
To go up is my only way
Up there in the sky
I could float and I could fly
I could be an astronaut one day!

Mommy Song

I love my mommy and mommy loves me
We are a special, happy family
I love her and love her and love her and love
I wonder if it hurt when she fell from above

Santa's Surprise

I wrote this poem tonight while sitting on my Mommy's lap. She wrote it down for me.

Once upon a time
In Jackson, “M.I.”
When all the kids were tucked in their beds
With caps on their heads
A girl named Elizabeth heard a strange sound
Coming from the rooftop—a tap and a pound
She got out of bed and went through the hall
Crept around the corner and then heard a call
Then she heard another sound
When two feet hit the fireplace ground
With big tall black boots and fine curly laces
Next came a bag of nicely laced cases
Then there was light and this light was red
“How is that, Santa?” a squeaky voice said
“Very good, Rudolph! Thanks for the light.
Tonight was real super! We had a great flight.”
Elizabeth stared at the fireplace and before she could count
A man with a beard and a snowcap stepped out
Elizabeth gasped and ran to her room
But it didn’t take long—she came back soon
Then what she saw was not what she thought
The cookies and milk were not in their spot
Santa wasn’t there and the red light was gone
Elizabeth sighed ‘cause something felt wrong
She went back to bed and had a small pause
Then what she said was, “Goodnight Santa Claus!”

The Snack

Once I ate a can of something
I didn't know what it was
I guess whatever was in it
Had a little bit of fuzz
It also had a bit of funk
A little something that smelled like skunk
I didn't really like it but I was satisfied
My brother said he liked it but I really think he lied
